Like a clam with a pearl inside, or a tootsie pop with a surprise center, geodes are limestone or lava rocks with crystals within. How did the hard rocks get a “secret fort” in the middle, and how did the beautiful crystals sneak inside the hole?
Sometimes when molten lava cools, bubbles form in the liquid rock creating a hollow cavity. As the liquid rock hardens, minerals, that have dissolved in water, seep inside the hollow place to fashion exquisite crystal designs! These unique geologic wonders formed during and immediately after the worldwide Flood described in the book of Genesis. Geodes, like all of God’s creation, provide magnificent reminders that God’s Word is true!
