When my old elementary school was demolished, I was once again reminded of the devastating effects of pornography. As a fifth grader, exposed to a magazine in the bathroom of that very school, I had no idea then how destructive that path could be.
Do you know what pornography does to a fifth grade boy? I do. It makes him confused about reality and sexuality. As he becomes obsessed with double-minded thoughts, he begins to excuse his view of reality and truth itself. While destroying his understanding of women and intimacy, porn creates intense feelings of guilt, despair, grief, brokenness, confusion, and resentment. In the end it brings death: death to intimacy with one’s wife, death to intimacy with his Creator, and death to self-control.
Like the excavator tearing down the entire building, I had to get to the root of the problem and tear it out. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it!
