Day 1 – Let There Be Light! (A light roast Ethiopian)
Creation declares God’s existence, and Third Day Coffee celebrates God’s seven days of the Creation Week. On Day 1, God said, “Let there be light!” Light awakens our senses and the wonderful aroma and delight of our light roast Ethiopian pairs wonderfully with your morning wake-up call.
Ethiopia is the birthplace of Arabica coffee producing some of the finest and the most unique coffees in the world. Grown at an altitude of over 7,000 feet, this Arabica yields very small beans with a highly concentrated flavor. Skillfully roasting its floral, mixed fruit, and dark chocolate tones yields the delightful complex flavor of our delightful Ethiopian!
With its light roast producing slightly higher caffeine, our Day 1 Ethiopian is sure to bring a brightness to your new day. God promises in Lamentations 3:22 that even in the midst of trying times, His mercies are new every morning!
Day 3 – Tree of Life (A medium roast Guatemalan)
On Day 3, God commanded the waters under the heaven to be gathered into one place, calling them Seas; and for the dry land to appear, calling it Earth. He then created grass, herbs, and trees—all life-giving. How incredible for our Abba Father to create such delectable foods for our earthly nourishment and sustenance, including coffee!
Our Central American medium roast Guatemalan offers medium acidity and a rich, heavy-bodied cup of coffee. Roasted to perfectly spotlight its chocolate and roasted walnut tones, this Genuine Antigua pours a mild, clean flavor—a true “classy coffee!”
Even before this week of creation, before the foundations of the world were created, God in His infinite wisdom provided for our eternal life. Jesus Christ, present at Creation, would be the Father’s Gift for all mankind (Ephesians 1:3-6). Jesus Christ’s death on a tree and His bodily Resurrection on the third day are the fulfillment of God’s promise to provide eternal life to those who repent and trust in Him. We cannot fathom the depths of the Father’s love as He designed the trees in the garden and the sacrificial tree of suffering—all for our good!
Day 6 – T-Rex (A dark roast Mexican)
On Day 6, God created man and woman, in His image and in His likeness. He also created all the land animals including the beast of the field. Those beasts included the dinosaurs like behemoth mentioned in Job 40:15, probably a brachiosaurus, as well as all the rest of God’s magnificent animals! Just imagine these giant creatures walking the earth with mankind, and all to reflect His glory!
We couldn’t help but choose one of God’s dinosaurs to represent our boldest roast. Coffee roasted to this level tends to lose some of its original characteristics, but also captures the unique caramel sweetness only found in the longer roast. T-Rex is for the brave at heart who enjoy low acidity, lighter caffeine, and an extremely dark flavor. According to Molecular Nutrition & Food Research, the dark roast coffee also provides the health benefit of more effectively restoring red blood cell vitamin E and glutathione. Go ahead and roar with this robust Day 6 T-Rex!
Day 7 – Sunset (Our Decaf Mexican Swiss-Water Washed)
On Day 7 God rested, not because He was tired, but because He was setting a precedent. God created our entire world to rest in cycles of seven. Even the Isaraelite’s agriculture and business were commanded to observe the Shemitah, a time of rest and release. God gave us this pattern for a reason. Rest affords us a time of rejuvenation, a time to reflect and to worship. It demonstrates a trust in His provision. Genesis 2:2; 2:3; 8:4; Exodus 12:15; 12:16 … and many more verses urge us to demonstrate a trust in His timing and provision. Try a study of the “sevenths” of the Bible!
Our Day 7 Sunset’s method of decaffeinating remains second to none in quality and flavor. Taking the extra time and expense for the Swiss Water-Washed method of decaffeinating is just one more way Third Day Coffee ensures the highest possible quality coffee! This method eliminates 97% of the caffeine, yet removes only a small amount of the smooth, nutty flavor from your end-of-day coffee. Take time to watch a sunset and reflect upon the goodness of God with your cup of Sunset.

The Candymaker and the Candy Cane
A Candymaker wanted to make a candy that would be a witness of his love for the Lord. He decided to make one which included several symbols of the birth, ministry, and death of Jesus Christ.
He began with a stick of pure white candy—the white symbolizing the Virgin birth and the sinless nature of Jesus Christ. He made it hard to symbolize the Solid Rock, the foundation of the Church, and the firm promises God has made.
The Candymaker made the candy in the form of a “J” to stand for the name of Jesus, who came to earth as our Precious Savior. Turned upside down, it would represent the staff of the Good Shepherd with which He reaches down into the ditches of the world to lift up the fallen lambs who have gone astray.
Thinking that the candy was somewhat plain, the Candymaker stained it with red stripes. He used small stripes to show the stripes of the scourging Jesus received. The large red stripe was for the blood shed by Christ on the cross so that we could have eternal life.
Sadly, the candy became known as the Candy Cane….just a meaningless decoration seen at Christmas time. But the meaning is still there for those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. This symbol remains a witness to the Wonder of Jesus and His Great Love for us. The Candy Cane reminds us of how he came down to earth at Christmas and remains the ultimate and dominant force in the universe today.
