Many people who have experience debating Creation vs. Evolution have encountered the compromise put forward by creation and secular scientists alike: theistic evolution, or, as it is known to the common person, this idea that God used evolution to create the world. Often, the argument is that if God took millions and billions of years to design the world we see today, then there would be no need for evolutionists and creationists to fundamentally disagree about the origin of the universe. Creationists can continue to believe that God is the Creator, while evolutionists can continue believing that the world was formed in billions of years, not just six days.

But does this theory brings up more questions than answers? Is this compromise reasonable? Should it be accepted by believers? Or is it fundamentally opposed to God’s character and the creation account recorded in the very first chapter of Genesis? What is the Christian response?
