Bad news, friend…

You’ve probably heard the statistic, “8 out of 10 kids leave the church after 1 year of secular college.” If not, sorry to drop that bomb on you… That’s a seriously horrifying fact. I mean, just thinking about it makes me sick to my stomach. I hate to be a downer here, but it’s true.

That’s why I’m doing everything I can to lead my children into their own unshakable faith. I don’t want them to become a statistic. I know I can make a difference in their lives. And I’m not waiting until they are in college to do it.

Angie, Steph, and Jordan. Lookin’ good as always!

See, I know what it’s like to fake it. To walk around with my “church face” on while I’m really *crammed* full of doubt and questions. Believe me, it stinks. I don’t want that for my kids, or yours, or you for that matter!

Look, at the end of the day, we all have questions. Some of them are easy, but man! some are tough!

Here’s the thing, though. I found a new perspective on questions that made a huge difference for me.

The trick is not to try to answer every question (even though the answers are out there).

It’s also not to stop asking them. (That would make us willingly ignorant. That’s no good.)

It’s definitely not “fake it ‘till you make it!” (*cough* Judas *cough*)

The secret to having a trust in God that simply can’t be moved (I call it unshakable faith) is to embrace every question as a chance to dig a little deeper into the mind of God.

In a couple of weeks, Carl Kerby (Reasons for Hope) and I are taking one Saturday to help you and your family make that mental switch like we did. To move to a place of absolute certainty. To look forward to the challenges, because you know the light on the other side first-hand.

Of course, you don’t need to go to a conference to have unshakable faith in God. All you have to do is trust him absolutely. It’s really pretty simple. But you and I both know that “simple” (losing weight, for example) and “easy” (passing up that fresh-baked oh-so-perfect apple pie) are not the same thing.

What we’re providing is fuel for your brain (scientific evidence) your heart (uncovering your worldview) and your stomach (chick-fil-a, boom!). This one day can be a catalyst to real lasting change for you and your family.

So if you want a shift in focus that will destroy doubt and give you the tools to be absolutely confident in your Christian faith, come hang out with Carl and me Saturday, November 12th in Pensacola.

You can check out the conference and grab your tickets at UnshakableConference.com

Or not, but I really think you should come. It’s going to be awesome! :-)

For God’s Glory!

Eric Hovind

P.S. We are doing a kids version of the conference at the same time, so bring everyone!

P.P.S. Did I mention Chick-fil-a lunch is included with your ticket? Yum!

P.P.P.S. If you prefer phones to computers, give Amanda a call at the office so she can answer your questions about the conference and get you signed up! (850) 479-3466.
