Reclaiming Science: Inside the Creation Research Revolution
Something powerful happens at each Creation Research Society conference. When you gather scientists who believe the Bible is the foundation of all truth, something deeper forms than a conference. It becomes a battleground of ideas wrapped in fellowship, conviction, and worship. It is scientists sharpening scientists. Veterans with 30+ years of research standing beside young men and women just beginning their scientific journeys. All of them are driven by the same mission: to lift the name of Christ by showing that real science does not fight Scripture. It confirms it.
This week on The Creation Today Show, Eric sat down with several of these research presenters at CRS 2025, and what they shared was nothing short of eye opening. While secular science struggles to explain origins by stripping God from the equation, these men and women are fearlessly uncovering evidence that points back to the Creator. Believe it or not, the founders of modern science in the mid-1800’s were Bible-believing Christians, and the torch has not gone out. In fact, we are starting to reclaim science for where it all began, right in Genesis.
Dr. Joel Brown, the Director of CRS, set the stage by sitting with Eric first. He spoke about the passion behind the research, the heart of the people doing it, and the incredible quality pouring out of the thirty six speakers this year. One of the leading fields is baraminology, the study of created kinds. How do we divide all living things into their original created groups. Which cacti belong to one kind. How much diversity did God build into His design. The work is astonishing, and Joel believes we will eventually recover DNA from fossils that will open the door to even more clarity.
Nate Loper reminded us why careful scrutiny matters. He examined the famous sauropod petroglyph and demonstrated that it is not a dinosaur drawing at all, but a regional map carved long ago. His work is a needed warning. Sometimes we want things to fit so badly that we stop thinking. Creation science must be done with integrity, not wishful thinking.
Carl Werner delivered another blow to evolutionary storytelling. He explained that DNA cannot form naturally and that the fossil record does not match the evolutionary tree, but it is perfectly consistent with the global Flood. The so-called missing links fall apart under scrutiny. Many are frauds. Many are inaccessible. Many have already been disproved. The few that remain are weak and constantly being replaced because the system needs a new one to keep funding alive.
Jake Ramgren offered insight into diversification after the Flood. If the Ark landed on Ararat and released the original kinds, how did we arrive at millions of species in only four thousand years. His research on adaptation shows that change is shockingly fast. Conservation scientists now use a strategy called contemporary evolution because species adapt in decades, not millennia. Adaptation happens quickly, but he reminded us, it will never turn an ape into a man.
Ellie Johnston brought lab data that cuts straight into one of evolution’s most cherished claims. She studies collagen degradation and bone preservation. Her experiments show that collagen breaks down with a half life between 300 and 1500 years. That means dinosaur bones cannot be 65 million years old. The math does not allow it. The iron preservation hypothesis offered by evolutionists failed her testing. The evidence simply does not support deep time.
Dr. Deweese carried this further by asking the question many avoid. Can we recover DNA from fossils. Dr. Mary Schweitzer found soft tissue. Could there also be genetic material left behind. The assumption has always been no, but a growing number of researchers are pursuing that possibility. The challenge is great, but the potential is enormous.
Dr. Frank Sherwin entered the scene with something atheists love to weaponize against creationists. Parasites. Yet he explained perfectly how they fit the biblical model. God created the world good. After the Fall came corruption. Some organisms that were once free living or beneficial lost systems and functions and became parasitic. The broken world explains their existence far better than evolution does. He reminded us of natural limits in biological change. Dogs stay dogs. Fruit flies stay fruit flies. Bacteria stay bacteria. This is exactly what Scripture predicts. He also pointed to soft dinosaur tissue, the geological column, and events like Mount St. Helens as reminders that rapid processes can change the earth far faster than secular timelines allow.
Diane Anderson drove home a key truth. Science is not some mystical force. Science is a tool. A hammer in the hands of the person using it. What matters is not the tool, but the worldview of the scientist holding it.
Don Stenberg explored accelerated radioactive decay during the Flood and the heat problem that follows. His conclusion is bold. The original earth likely did not have a molten core and volcanoes were not part of the world before the Flood. The Flood itself reshaped the earth in catastrophic ways.
What unites all of these scientists, is very simple – they stand firmly on the Word of God. Science was born from people who believed that if God created the universe, then studying it was an act of worship. These researchers stand in that same heritage. Their work is not guesswork. It is not a myth. It is not an attempt to force Scripture into science. It is the conviction that the Bible gives us the framework to understand the world rightly.
This is the front line of creation research.
This is where truth pushes back and reclaims the narrative.
