A battle wages all around us. Fierce fighting between good and evil. Angels and demons. Light and dark. It may sound like the start to a fantasy book, but this is real! The book of Romans tells us that we don’t wrestle with flesh and blood, but with spiritual forces of this world. It is a real and intense battle that 
we cannot see with our human eyes, but it is dangerous and more important than ever that we understand what is going on. That’s why I invited my friend and mentor, Pastor Don Landis of Jackson Hole Bible College, to discuss this very topic with us! He teaches a whole class on this at the school, so you are going to want to strap in as he gives a brief overview of this important topic over the course of one hour.
Pastor Landis shows how the battle we are talking about is between God and Satan. God loves us, but Satan hates us! We can see this through all of the pain and suffering of sin compared to the grace and love that comes from God. Pastor Landis explains how Satan wants to be like God, but he can’t. What God creates, Satan counterfeits. So when we see the twisted versions of the truth people in this world are believing, we can know that it is all part of the battle going on around us between the truth of God and the lies of the devil.
So what do we do? For the believer, it is clear. There is NO neutral. There is NO middle ground. We are either for God or against Him, and we must choose. If we are for God, then we are working and living in a way that reflects His truth and destroys the lies of the enemy. So we must speak to our friends and family, train our children, monitor what we read and watch ALL with God’s Kingdom in mind. We do not want to succumb to the lies of Satan in this battle.
