This month’s “Spotlight” is on a member of our network who has quite a network of his own. As president of the Quad City Creation Science Association, Helmut Welke is not only a Creation Speaker, but one who organizes monthly meetings and various events for those on the central border of Iowa and Illinois.
Helmut has been married to Thea for 38 years. They have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. As a recently retired engineering manager with a Fortune 200 company, Helmut holds BS and MS degrees in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois. Holding positions in a variety of national and international assignments, he is a certified engineering manager, and in 2006 was elected to the board of trustees of IISE – an international society serving the Industrial and Systems Engineering profession. In 2012 he was honored as a “Fellow” of the IIE society.
In recent years he has become a popular speaker on Creation Science topics as well as Atheism and Intelligent Design. He has spoken to churches, youth groups, on college campuses and civic organizations throughout the Midwest USA, but also in France, Germany and Poland.
Helmut is also president of the Quad-City Creation Science Association. Founded in 2008, they are dedicated to telling the truth in science education. Additionally, Helmut is a member of the Creation Research Society and has been named an Ambassador/Speaker for Logos Research Associates.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Helmut has an upcoming ministry trip to speak on Creation in Germany this coming March. Pray for safety and his presentations to 3 churches, 4 schools and 4 “Christians in Business” civic association meetings. In addition to the March trip to Germany, Helmut is involved in events on Feb 8th in Davenport, IA, as well as the Truth Conferences in Pensacola, FL on February 24 and Moline, IL on April 20-21.
