Let’s Equip YOU

The church is facing a crisis of confidence. Far too many believers are being overwhelmed by questions they were never equipped to answer. We need clarity, we need truth, and we need tools that anchor us when the culture tries to shake our faith. If we do not equip God’s people with real answers, the world will gladly fill the gap with confusion and compromise. That was the focus of today’s conversation with Dave Glander, founder of Equip You and Reasons for Hope. This was a fun show but even more than that, it was an alarm call for the Church, and a roadmap for believers who want to stand firm in a world that is asking harder questions than ever, because the next hard discussion is coming. We need to be prepared for it.

Dave has spent years working with students, parents, and churches through youth camps, online courses, and live Equip retreats. What he has seen is sobering. The number of Christians who can clearly explain what they believe and why has dropped sharply over the past few decades. Many pastors feel unprepared. Parents feel overwhelmed. Students feel confused. The questions are coming faster than the answers, and too many believers are being left without the tools they need.

Dave knows this struggle personally. Before coming to Christ, he was an atheist himself, who genuinely wanted answers. He read books, challenged Christians, and searched everywhere for truth. But the believers he encountered could not respond to the questions he was asking. They believed, but they could not explain. It was not until he encountered thoughtful Christian resources like Lee Strobel’s The Case for Christ that the pieces began to come together. That journey eventually led him from skepticism to faith and then to a passion for equipping others so they would not be left defenseless the way he once was.

That burden is what gave birth to Equip Retreats and later EquipYou.org. Dave started by helping his own son, who came home from church camps encouraged but unequipped. The students were hungry, but they went back to families and churches that could not help them process what they were learning. Dave realized something critical. If the parents were not equipped, the impact on the kids would not last. So he took the training out of conference rooms and into homes through an online platform that anyone could access.

On the show, Dave shared how today’s students are not just asking surface level questions. They want to know who they are, how to read the Bible, how to think, and how to live as Christians in a hostile culture. One of the most common questions he hears is not about atheism or evolution. It is simply, “How do I study the Bible for myself?” They are hungry for truth and desperate for clarity.

Equip You now offers full courses that walk people through the core of the Christian faith. Topics include dealing with doubt, the impossibility of relativism, evidence for God, intelligent design, the reliability of Scripture, the identity of Jesus, the Resurrection, miracles, Islam, and how to defend the faith with confidence and grace. These are not academic lectures. They are practical tools built for everyday believers.

One of the most moving parts of Dave’s story is how far he had fallen before God rescued him. After abuse, loss, addiction, and homelessness, he reached a point where he cried out, “If You are real, You need to do something.” God did. Through Scripture, through the words of Jesus, and through years of seeking, Dave found not only truth, but peace. That transformation now fuels everything he does.

This episode is for parents who want to be heroes in their children’s story. It is for pastors who feel the weight of unanswered questions. It is for students who want to stand boldly. And it is for anyone who knows that encouragement is not enough. We need clarity that does not collapse under pressure.

If you are tired of a quiet, uncertain faith, this conversation will give you something solid to stand on. We strongly encourage you to watch it and share it with someone who needs to be equipped for the world we are living in.
