UWF Campus Memorial for Charlie Kirk Stands UNSILENCED
This week, the University of West Florida (UWF) campus became the site of a powerful memorial honoring the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA. Despite attempts to sow division, the memorial remained UNSILENCED, standing as a testament to faith, boldness, courage, and the enduring impact of one man who lived boldly for truth.
Charlie Kirk was a passionate advocate for faith, freedom, and personal responsibility. He believed in the power of truth grounded in Scripture, encouraging people—especially young Americans—to stand boldly for their convictions. He championed limited government, individual liberty, and traditional values, and sought to equip the next generation to engage culture thoughtfully and courageously.
Beyond politics, Charlie emphasized the importance of faith in God, moral integrity, and using one’s influence to make a positive impact. He inspired many to live courageously, speak boldly, and stand for truth, even in the face of opposition.
Eric Hovind, one of many to address the crowd, highlighted the deeper reasons behind societal division. He emphasized that much of the conflict stems from a worldview that teaches humans are “nothing but animals,” a perspective that begins in Genesis. When people are taught they have no inherent worth, it shapes how they act toward one another. Hovind reminded attendees that true knowledge, purpose, and value come from God, and that understanding this foundation is key to living faithfully and acting with integrity.
Many pastors and Christian leaders took to the microphone to speak about Charlie’s life. While some students openly disagreed with Charlie on certain points, all were moved by the outpouring of love for Charlie and his ongoing, and enduring legacy. The leaders of the rally addressed dissenters in the crowd with calmness and grace, encouraging prayer for those who opposed what Charlie stood for. On the sidelines, a group of believers quietly prayed for several involved, exemplifying Christ’s love in action…no shouting, no hostility, only love. This was exactly how Charlie would have wanted it.
Though Charlie may be gone from this world, his influence continues to grow. Many attendees at the memorial committed to standing for truth in their own lives and to carry on Charlie’s mission, inspired by his courage and faith. Remarkably, more than 32,000 new branches of Turning Point USA are now being organized, a testament to how God can use tragedy to bring glory and spark action for His kingdom.
The UWF memorial was more than a gathering—it was a demonstration that love, prayer, and truth cannot be silenced. Charlie Kirk’s life and legacy continue to inspire, reminding all who follow him that even in a world full of division and darkness, faithful voices and actions can shine brightly.
